Dance Celebration

What is Peace Day?

Peace Day is an International Festival that Iowa Resource for International Service celebrates once a year! This festival is free admission and open to all. The festival celebrates the idea of global peace and unity. Various cultures are emphasized through food, dance, art and education. There are activities for everyone, cultural organizations have booths at the event showcasing their activities, crafting booths and student ran booths. There were options of getting free henna, learning origami, photo booths and much more! This also provides our Youth and Exchange Study (YES) Students with an opportunity to share their culture while also meeting the community of Des Moines. Make sure to come check out all of the amazing performers, workshops and booths, you will not want to miss out!
